Month-long Anniversary Celebration

The month-long CMC 38th anniversary celebration formally began on June 2, 2008 with a morning thanksgiving mass at the hospital auditorium. The CMC Foundation, Inc. conducted Operation Sagip Mata for the whole month of June as part of the hospital’s anniversary celebration for the indigent patients with eye disorders. For 4 consecutive Saturdays (June 7,14,21,28), CMC free consultations to the residents of Brgy. Paligsahan and free urinalysis to all kidney patients at the Out-Patient Department.

The CMC employees enjoyed a whole morning of fun and games in the CMC Family Day at the Amoranto Performing Arts Theatre. On June 11, a half day Lay Forum on kidney disease entitled Alay Mo…Pag-asa Ko…was held at the auditorium. An Art exhibit was held at the hospital lobby on June 16, featured were the paintings of Fernando Sena plus artworks of doctors and other graduates of the CMC 2008 Art Workshop.

The Dept. of Pediatrics held its day-long Annual Post-Graduate Symposium on June 18 with the topic “Reconciling Clinical Experience with Evidence-based Practice.’

In the morning of June 20, the Anniversary Mass was held at the 12th Flr. Auditorium. The same day was the birthday of our dear founder Mr. Luis C. Clemente. The blessing of the newly acquired medical equipment, the Siemens Gamma Camera (Nuclear Medicine Section) Medicon Sonoace XB Ultrasound with 3D/4D,(Ob-Ultrasound) Hitachi Ultrasound EUB 8500 (Ultrasound Section), Kaypentax Endoscopy Unit (ENT Section), Aplio XV Ultrasound Machine (Heart Station), RF Fluoroscopy (X-ray Section) and the Bone Competence Center (2nd Flr. Annex) followed.

In the afternoon, the Employees Program was held at the Amoranto Performing Arts Theatre featuring song and dance numbers from selected hospital employees. The program was highlighted by awarding the retired hospital employees and those who have rendered service for 5 to 35 years.

On June 25, a medical mission was held at the Gen. Roxas Elementary School. On June 21, celebrity mom Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan conducted a free seminar on Power Parenting at the auditorium. June 25, a scientific symposium on Stroke was held and another Lay Forum on “Prostate Lay Lecture on June27.

A well attended Medical Staff Program was held last July 2, at the 12th Flr. Auditorium, highlighted by awarding the doctors those who have rendered years of service. It was well attended by the CMC active medical staff.

Indeed, it was a busy month for the hospital. Ms. Carmina C. Desales, MHA, FPCHA, vice president was the Over-all chairman of the 38th Anniversary celebration.
