CMC Joined the 3rd World Health Tourism
The Philippine government led by the Department of Tourism Director Ms. Elizabeth Nelle and Congressman Rufino Biazon together with Capitol Medical Center represented by Ms. Carmina C. Desales, MHA, FPCHA, Vice-President/ COO and Faridah A. Vicerra, Marketing Assistant and 3 other hospitals from Metro Manila went to Marbella and Madrid, Spain to promote the medical tourism program of the country and hospital services.
The main event was the 3rd World Health Tourism Congress. The World Health Tourism is the only event in the world that is dedicated to health tourism industry targeting corporate buyers of health industries who are looking after their local patients to be sent to other countries to receive better medical treatment. There were 350 attendees, representing 42 countries. The event was under the Official Support and Patronage of the Costa del Sol Tourism Board.
The aim of Capitol Medical Center in joining this event was to position the hospital as an ideal destination for medical and health services in Asia. As a health provider, the hospital was given the opportunity to meet foreign buyers and promote the hospital services. The CMC had 12 pre-scheduled, one-on-one meetings with selected Buyers . Aside from the one-on-one meetings, there were 19 presentations / workshops, presented by experts on Health Tourism.
Our target markets were Corporate Accounts, Insurance companies, Petroleum Companies and Travel Agencies from the Middle East, Europe and Asia who need hospital provides for their employees, expatriates, Filipino employees and dependents who wish to have medical treatment in the Philippines.
The following services were directly promoted to the official representatives of foreign companies (buyers); the Orthopedic Surgery, Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery; Cochlear Implant; Wellness or Executive Check-up Packages, and the Dermatology & Cosmetic Packages.
Both the Buyers and the Sellers indicated that the one-on one meeting arrangement had a good effect. The overall feeling and impression, amongst the attendees was that the Congress had achieved its objective and gave promise of a larger and even more impressive and effective forum next year in Manila during, the 4th World Health Tourism Congress that the Philippines will host.
