The Pulmonary Section is equipped with modern facilities to serve the diagnostic and therapeutic needs of patients with acute and chronic pulmonary disorders. These include ultrasonic nebulizers for the administration of drugs continuous humidification and in-line nebulizers, intermittent positive pressure breathing (IPPB) and well maintained volume respirators for those requiring mechanical ventilatory support. it also offers Pulmonary Function Test (Spirometry) for the diagnosis and management of obstructive and restrictive pulmonary disorders.

MEDGRAPHICS ELITE DX BODY PLETHYSMOGRAPH

The MedGraphics Elite DX Plethysmograph provides spirometry including flow-volume loop, slow vital capacity (SVC) and MVV; thoracic gas volume (TGV), airway resistance (Raw), diffusing capacity (Dico) and lung volumes. Respiratory muscles strength can be easily assessed with its maximal inspiratory / expiratory pressure measurement. Data gathered from such test can be useful in making an accurate diagnosis and progress of treatment in restrictive and obstructive ventilatory disorder (COPD, Emphysema, Asthma), pre and post-op evaluation. All these can be done in fast, easy testing of all patients from pediatrics to adults.
