Dr. Thelma Navarrete–Clemente,MD,FPCHA, FPOGS,FPCS the lone 40 years Service Awardee and legendary founder of Capitol Medical Center celebrated her birthday on October 11, 2010. Being a lover of music and art, she celebrates her special day with the traditional MAÑANITA where employees would hurdle an array of her favorite tunes from her teenage years to the most recent pieces whose lyrics hold special spots in her heart. This year’s celebration labeled as MAÑANITA WITH A TWIST presented a diversified version of Dr. TNC’s favorite songs with the Department heads singing/dancing/acting out roles/innovating creativity to give life to the almost forgotten melodies. It has brought out the hidden talents of the Supervisors who have spared extra time and effort to ensure that the Celebrant enjoyed every minute of their performance. The early evening gathering reveled on the participants’ rendition of the songs ala Madrigal singers, danced some of the tunes to a new beat, and came up with a Drama rama for Dr. Clemente’s favorite songs. Delighted with the turn out of the departmental performances, Ms. Carmina C. Desales, MHA, FPCHA gave out on the spot cash prizes to the groups who were picked up by neutral jurors headed by Father Gus Balanquit. The Admin group emerged as the first prize winners with their HANDOG drama rama highlighted by the portrayal of Dr. Clemente’s varied roles in life. Second prize was awarded to the Nursing Service Special Area Supervisors, Nursing Service Floors and Medical Service received 5th and 4th prizes respectively. As a tradition, free meals were provided for all employees on duty on that day.
