 Capitol Medical Center (CMC), one of the premier medical institutions in the Philippines celebrated its 38th anniversary fully committed to continuing its tradition of providing total quality healthcare.
Formally opened in March 1970, CMC has built a solid reputation as an ultramodern hospital with highly trained, compassionate doctors and staff. Five months after formally opening in March 1970, CMC surgeons performed the country’s first successful kidney transplant. In 1977, CMC became the first local private hospital in the Philippines to establish a center for spinal disorders. In 2000, CMC established the country’s first ENT Voice and Swallowing Clinic to address the unique needs of a specific group of patients, such as singers, TV and radio personalities, lecturers, teachers, as well as individuals with swallowing disorders (dysphagia).
In 2003, the country’s first laparoscopic nephrectomy (minimally invasive surgical removal of the kidney) was successfully performed at CMC. To date, CMC is the only hospital in the country equipped with Digital Infrared Thermography Imaging (DITI), a non-invasive diagnostic machine that visualizes and quantifies changes in skin surface temperature. Recently it has acquired top-of-the-line medical hardware, making CMC one of the best equipped hospitals in the country. These include the country’s first body sculpturing machine, the new Open-Type Hitachi Aperto Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine, the E. Cam Signature Series Siemens Gamma Camera, Hitachi Ultrasound EUB 8500, and the Medison Sonoace X8 Ultrasound with 3D/4D and Doppler Capabilities.
CMC’s world-class healthcare facilities cover all medical specialties. It has set up specialty centers equipped with the latest in medical technology, such as the Kidney Center, Skin Center, Total Health Care Center for Women, Ear, Nose and Throat Center, Eye Center, Heart Station and Nuclear Medicine Station.
